ruby on rails is the best thing ever!!!!
at least for web development. stuff that’s really, really easy in RoR:
- AJAX
- test driven development (it’s really easy, but i still might not do it, because frankly, it’s boring)
- installing plugins/extensions (i added one for authentication and file uploading, which worked without any problems)
- loading/storing objects from the DB (0 work, it’s all built in! although you can override it for performance/other reasons)
- making sure css files have a version number at the end of them (taken care of automatically! and for js files as well!)
- emails (built in!)
- writing reusable code (ruby is pure object oriented)
