“Politics is hard,” in a speech addressing House Democrats. It’s kind of like the rich, privileged translation of the phrase, “pimpin’ ain’t easy.” It took him 6 years to figure out that politics is hard?
I can just picture Bush 20 years later in 2027 in some interview saying, “Man, everyone those days figured that politics was real easy. Like all you had to do to win at politics was be born to a powerful family, get into an elite school because of your name, drink a lot of alcohol and snort a ton of coke, and then have your father’s advisors guide you to the presidency. Nobody really knew how hard it was.”
The only thing Bush could have said that would have been funnier/worse is, “being president is hard.”

LOL! aaah, Bushie… can’t wait till he gets kicked out in ‘08.(I still find it amusing that everyone gave so much crap to Clinton about having “smoked weed” in college, yet Bush was a total alcoholic and druggie and no one ever mentions it.)
